Hear hear to all that. I read A Christmas Carol every year and if that’s too much sentimentality for some, try watching the Alistair Sim version or even A Muppets Christmas Carol. 😁 The story never fails to bring a tear to my eye.

Thanks and a merry Christmas Andrew and to all on here.

What you just wrote, is a mirror image of what I used to do, apart from The Muppets.

I always enjoyed reading A Christmas Carol, and watch Alistair Sim grace the television screen with his wonderful acting, portrayal. Merry Christmas to all.

Thank you Andrew from all of us for your hard and brilliant work. Have a wonderful Christmas and an exciting and successful 2025. And, as it happens, books are my favourite presents and have been since I was a kid. I do let people know what I want though!

Always a place for a bit of good old-fashioned sentimentality!

Sitting here watching "White Christmas" on BBC and feeling very sentimental about all the times I watched this with my parents as a kid.

Happy Christmas AD and everyone. May your days be merry and bright :-)

It makes a good stocking filler gift, too. This morning I started reading the one my mum gave me years ago, a hardback facsimile of Christmas Books, a collection of Dickens' festive stories. Merry Christmas!

I'm not exaggerating. Every time I read one of your posts I have to google at least one word. This time it was "Laocoon". I also had to google how to pronounce it. But then it did take me 3 times to pass English Language at school. And now I want to be a writer! Only small successes so far. Any tips?

Should have waited until the end to comment. Had to google "bowdlerise" as well.

I love watching the film every Christmas Eve (The one with Patrick Stewart as Scrooge).

I think it follows the book quite well.

Thank you Andrew, for being the voice of reason, humour and sensibility in this weird and wacky world of madness. Perhaps it was ever thus?

Merry Christmas from this book hoarder to you. Cheers!
