The school chaplain accused of terrorism
The Reverend Dr Bernard Randall was reported to Prevent, the the government’s anti-terrorism watchdog, because he gave a sermon which questioned gender ideology.
On last night’s episode of Free Speech Nation, I interviewed the Reverend Dr Bernard Randall, who was sacked as chaplain of Trent College in Derbyshire after her gave a sermon in which he told pupils that they were free to disagree with the tenets of gender identity ideology.
In a training session that he attended, members of staff were instructed to chant “smash heteronormativity”. As he explains in this interview, he accepts that some activists feel this way, but he felt that such a sentiment was not in keeping with his Christian beliefs.
He has since been banned from preaching by the Archbishop of Derby. Shockingly, the Church of England appears to be standing by the ongoing persecution of Dr Randall, even though he had urged pupils to be respectful at all times even to those with whom they disagree.
For those in any doubt as to the innocuous nature of his sermon, it can be read in full here.
Please watch the interview to hear his incredible story. As Dr Randall puts it, “we live in a mad world”.
What has happened to him cannot be explained in any kind of logical, rational way. “We live in a mad world” says it all.
A perfect example of the new totalitarian state in action. This should be a national scandal. But it isn't. Even if eventually Randall wins a long legal case, and wins some damages (which he should) the damage will still have been done.
