One only has to look back ten years or so to see that there was no such thing as a trans child. The whole idea has been manufactured by people with power, influence and money. For example, Martine Rothblatt, a transhumanist, amongst many others has been working with governments for decades, to embed gender ideology into law and the culture. Then there is the profit motive; big pharma is making huge amounts from transitioning children and turning them into lifelong medical patients. And underlying all of it is Queer Theory, a form of Marxism whose purpose is to destroy society by normalising fetish, pushing sexual boundaries including the sexual boundary between adult and child, indoctrinating children and creating a wedge between parent and child in order to destroy the family.

The hardest thing to understand is how so many people appear to be incapable of doing any kind of research, or even looking back a few years. Cowardice is part of it but it doesn’t really explain the easy acceptance of such insane ideas. Thanks for your continued focus on this issue Andrew. The safeguarding of children should be the focus of every adult and the fact that so few are speaking out about this is unforgivable.

“Cowardice is part of it but it doesn’t really explain the easy acceptance of such insane ideas.” This is SO well observed. Recently, a magazine to which I subscribe, which does some excellent in-depth analysis on economic topics, let two young interns publish a piece about trans stuff that was filled with nonsense from the first sentence to the last. I wrote the editors, as I have on two occasions previously, and laid out just some of what was wrong (the fabled suicide statistic, eg). They should be embarrassed, at the very least, but somehow, on these issues, the brains of all too many of even the smartest people on other topics turn to mush.

Great article thank you. The concept of the trans child is the most insidious part of the whole gender movement in my opinion. It seems to me to be primarily pushed by cross dressing heterosexual men who need the trans child to exist in order to legitimise displaying their fetish in public, it’s a gift to all of those homophobic parents who are only to happy to latch onto magical thinking that their child is born in the wrong body and the collateral damage are vulnerable kids who would have simply grown up to be gay. It is so dangerous and I cringe every time I think about it.

The "possessed" child is a very good alternative of describing the "trans child". I'm going to use this more in casual conversation.

Whenever this "born in the wrong body" comes up I'll inquire whether they've tried tot exorcise the little f*ckers.

Thanks Andrew and a Happy New Year to you!

A clear and dispassionate dismantling of this terrifying and dangerous belief system. Thank you.

There are no trans kids. There are gender confused kids often with homophobic parents who would rather attempt to "trans away the gay" than have a gay/lesbian child. These children are often on the autism spectrum, vulnerable, traumatised for many reasons. Some have been the victim of physical/psychological/sexual abuse. They should be treated therapeutically not put on puberty blockers and encouraged to have dangerous life changing surgery which leave them with lifelong medical issues.

A friend has suggested that we no longer refer to “trans” or “transgender” people but refer to them simply as “transvestites.” This has the benefit of identifying the long duration of transvestism as a phenomenon and isolating it from any false “gender identity.” I don’t mind how people indulge their sexual fetish if they do so in private. Public transvestism run the risk of enabling rape by deception, which the CPS has recently declared not always to be a crime (but that is not what the law seems to say).

Yes, transvestites: heterosexual males with a fetish, a fetish whose practice requires the retention of their male bodies, so no 'transitiioning' for these men. By claiming that they are 'born in the wrong body' (i.e. "I can't help it, I was born this way"), they escape the stigma of transvestism and can claim to be the most oppressed/ marginalized people in the world.

Thank you our free speech hero. One thing please, and I know you have spoken about this - who is behind the butchering of our language? These idiots use euphemisms to describe something evil, eg gender affirming care? Is this craziness linked to the DEI ideology? To a wider, net zero madness? Please enlighten us. And thank you for this analysis.

I find it extraordinary that some parents wilfully indulge or even persuade their children to follow a one way path to unhappiness. Instead of letting them grow up and into their own real selves, they are causing irreparable damage to their children’s lives. These people have the vote…. scary.

Anyway: have a happy new year, Andrew!

“The main difference is that trans activists are lauded by the media and political class, whereas exorcists are given a wide berth.” Perfect. Thank you, and best wishes for the New Year.

Excellent article, as always, thanks Andrew. This is a monstrous ideology which destroys children’s bodies to further the political interests of transvestic fetishist men and to enrich a predatory medical industry. Not to mention the bizarre “transhumanist” research interests also served by this mass experiment.

Personally, I reject not only the term “trans kids” but also “trans people”. It may seem convenient but it’s a Trojan Horse that’s been used to smuggle men into women’s spaces, sports, prisons etc. Perfectly sane people have been so confounded by this term that they now think “transwomen” (who they will acknowledge aren’t women) are nonetheless somehow different from men.

I believe the only hope of waking people up and fighting this toxic movement lies in rejecting the entire ideology and its terminology, though I don’t share the doctrinaire attitude of some who condemn people’s lifestyle choices—I support the right of men to pretend to be women—and who denounce gender-critical people’s private use of terminology e.g. using pronouns with friends etc. I know you’ve come up against this unnecessarily aggressive attitude, Andrew.

That photo should be argument enough. Poor girl. The underlying problem is the lethal effectiveness of social media at brainwashing people into irrational, despicable acts. We think this is bad, and it is, but if the demon can create this insane hysteria, what else could be in store? Shudder.

Thanks for a great analysis, Andrew.

The gender house is, of curse, built on sand and it seems to me that the collapse of the house starts with the simple scientific statement that sex is immutable. If sex is immutable, then there is no such thing as 'trans' in this context ( I note that Ritchie Heron does not like being called a 'detransitioner' for this very reason - he never was a woman - he was always a man). If there is no such thing as 'trans', then there cannot be such a thing as 'gender identity'. If there is no gender identity maybe there is no 'gender dysphoria' ( or maybe at most gender dysphoria is a symptom of some other problem - see the work of Dr Miriam Grossman - and you do not , of course, treat a symptom!).

Sometimes when you look at the trees for long enough you finally realise you are looking at a wood😃

That gender identity is a metaphysical concept can, as you say, be demonstrated by the need for the trans child to exist. 'Give me the child until he is 7 and I will give you the man' - possible misgendering aside - is apposite here, too., and explains the prevalence of this ideology in schools, so as long as we put to one side for a moment the darkest of reasons for wanting a forever pre-pubescent 'child' (those MAPs have skin in this movement, as well). Confronted with the concept, a good retort, one which also lays bare the motives of parents like David Tennant, is that there is no such thing as a vegan cat.

Children legally become an adult when they turn eighteen. By most accounts our brain continues to develop until we reach twenty five. Many of us will have had a variety of partners before finding a compatible individual. However we allow young adults to make life altering decisions without the option of reverting , changing one’s mind. The level of divorcing indicates that our choice of a mate is flawed.

Should there be a period of reflection before surgeries are permitted, until we reach our early twenties? At least with a divorce we can restore our independence. Mastectomies are final.

I think the most liberal way to reduce the number of these surgeries would be to ban any kind of insurance cover for negligence. If doctors knew there was a chance they would be personally liable to compensate de-transitioners I think we'd see the end of surgery for anyone under 25/anyone with mental health problems pretty much overnight.

An excellent essay as usual. The analogy to the Christian or Muslim child is so spot on.

Too true ,Andrew. The " trans child " is an invention by the ideologues to validate the "innateness" of the " born this way" mantras of adult men with nefarious intentions towards women and children !! .xx
